My role
Independently led brand strategy and designed the complete visual identity system.
Challenge
Conifer is a creative pursuit started by two architects focused on craft, materiality, and spatial detail. As a premium designer doors brand, it needed an identity that reflected architectural thinking and bespoke design, while clearly separating it from mass furniture and interior brands. The brand had to feel precise, considered, and credible to architects, designers, and design-led homeowners.
My approach
The brand system was built around architectural thinking. Everything is based on structure, proportion, and clarity rather than decoration. The identity stays restrained so the craftsmanship of the product remains the focus.
The logo is a simplified architectural opening, referencing a doorway or threshold. It reflects precision, structure, and spatial intent, which felt natural for a brand designing doors. Typography and layout follow the same logic, keeping the system neutral, balanced, and timeless. The colour palette is muted and material-led, allowing the brand to sit comfortably across physical and spatial environments.
